MR WALRUS AND THE OLD SCHOOL BUS is a FREE itunes app. Just sign into itunes, search for US Design Dynamics and download Mr. Walrus free. The app includes READ-TO-ME, PLAY-FOR-ME, I-CAN-READ. If you are non-English speaking, learn to read today! Parents: if your child’s a pre-reader or just loves to read, Animalations apps are for you because the words in the song are the same as the words in the app. Singing the song enables you to read-along in the ebook. APPS FOR IPHONE AND IPAD

As early as this week, one app will be available for iphone and ipad. I will have a temporary site set up - until I get my permanent Animalations itunes site up and going. I will tweet and blog the link. The first interactive app is MR. WALRUS AND THE OLD SCHOOL BUS. This app will be available at no charge - all around the world. It will include three tabs: I CAN READ, READ TO ME, PLAY FOR ME. The PLAY FOR ME tab will include the original song that sings the words in the text of the app. Children and adults will learn the song and be able to read the book, even if they are not fluent in English and/or pre-readers. Offering this ebook/app at no charge, we hope to provide a worldwide SPLASH of Animalations books.

The second book to be offered is RILEY THE RHINOCEROS. This ebook/app will be available in 2-3 weeks and will be available at a reduced price. Watch for updates.

Soon, each printed Animalations book will be available online, as an interactive app.

Each of these apps will be interactive, musical and engaging. Each will also have a heart- warming message that will be delivered at the end of each app-ebook. At this time, we have no plans to re-print Animalations books. They will be available in interactive app format only. Therefore, if you have a set of Animalations books - keep them safe. Be a facilitator of learning rather than a teacher. To facilitate learning, be available to assist as needed and nurture the child on his road to learning. Generally, children need opportunities to learn - rather than being taught. Learning then becomes a product of experience.

Stimulate the brain through tactile experiences or simply through touch. There are 3000 nerve receptors located in the fingertip, just under the skin. Since a blind individual can obtain a college degree by tracing Braille dots with one finger, it makes sense that children learn and stimulate their brains by touching. Allow the child to repeatedly touch objects in the environment because the fingertip is a superhighway

to the brain.

Remember the toddler is a self-absorbed being. He is totally interested in self-gratification and instant gratification. Adults should never try to change the powerful person locked in a little body, but provide safe guards so the toddler can continue his journey with as little interruption as possible.

Give permission for the child to move ahead at his own speed rather than the speed of others in the group or in the family. Encourage the child’s teacher and/or care giver to allow the child to move on to the next level instead of waiting for others. Greater learning will take place if a child moves at his own speed.

Animalations.com books with original songs are being created as iphone/ipad apps. Be sure to watch for them in the next few weeks. The apps are interactive and educational for young children. By combining an original musical song that sings the words in the book, brain stimulation becomes strong enough to actually fire-neurons in the brain, that creates stronger connections between neurons. Stronger neuron connections make learner easier for children.

I have seen the working story line for the first app, Mr. Walrus and the Old School Bus. Your children are going to love the book and will enjoy interacting with the characters in the book. The app. becomes a complete learning experience by including the musical score, words to the song, science notes and teaching notes.

I had a huge learning curve after attending the Literary Conference in December 2009. The greatest lesson for me is the opportunity I have as a self-publisher assist parents and educators in their quest to provide children with stimulating products. In a nutshell; children need stimulating experiences to develop the brain. If you read the research on animalations.com you will find information about strong connections between neurons in the brain, necessary for children to learn. Strong connections require strong stimulation found in multi-sensory experiences. You can create multi-sensory stimulation by combining two or more of the following: reading, rhyming, singing, dancing, movement, clapping, tapping. All of these activities develop patterns in the brain, necessary for strong neuron connections.

With children, we have a captive audience; they are eager to learn. Knowing that, it is our responsibility to provide them with stimulating experiences that will encourage strong neuron connections in the brain that will make language development a breeze. I will keep you updated, but in the meantime, read the research on animalations.com or do a google search for: neuron connections and child development, or 'how to develop strong neuron connections.'

Remember: reading a story to a child provides some stimulation but it is not enough to make strong connections between neurons. If you add rhyming verses, music, movement along with the significant adult, you will elevate the experience to a life changing experience for the child.

Your child will be able to view videos at no charge. In 7 months, Intellitale Video has nearly 13,000 views and it is growing daily.

I attended a writer's workshop earlier this month. I am getting ready to send in manuscripts to a literary agency, along with query letters. Four manuscripts are picture books with rhyming verses. One manuscript is for middle readers. I will keep you posted.

I am also writing a young adult novel that includes fantasy and real life experiences. I am three quarters finished with it. I have another young adult fantasy novel in beginning stages.
